Biography
Linda gardens and writes at the same slightly ramshackle early 19th century house where she has lived for 30 years with her beloved herb garden, her blue Persian cat and her husband of nearly 40 years. And she gathers wild herbs and writes at the mountain cabin where her family first settled in 1753.
A long-time member of the Herb Society of America and member of the prestigious Rosemary Circle, Linda Rago may be most well-known for her classic book Dooryard Herbs, first published in 1984 and now in its fourth printing. Educated as a journalist, she was a newspaper reporter and magazine columnist before writing books -- while raising a son and daughter. She has also written the Dooryard Herb Cookbook, The Herbal Almanac, Mugworts in May, Blackberry Cove Herbal, and most recently her first work of fiction: Dropped by the Crow, a Delilah Tea Mystery.
